Have you met Jesus?
No, seriously... Have you met him in person? Talked with him? Experienced being in his presence? For yourself?
Many believe based on what they heard in church, the radio, or what they read in books, even in the bible. That's all good... but have you gone the next step and actually met Jesus in person for yourself?
If we believe that Jesus rose on that third day, the His promises are true, that He loves us deeply, that He is the same always... Then we must believe it is possible to meet him for real. Not just through the word and testimony of others, but for yourself!
Crazy? No!
There is an old story about Jimmy. Jimmy was a very bad young man full of sin, raised on the streets, never graced the door of a church. When Jimmy accepted Christ as savior, he was overjoyed! He ran out and found his best friend, a partner in crime and sat him down. But Jimmy had nothing to say. No training, no words, no concepts, he had never read a single scripture. In desperation to share his newfound life with his best friend, this blessed young believer stepped out on faith and simply said, "Jesus, this is my friend Joe. Joe, meet Jesus!"
Sound silly? Nope! Joe met Jesus that day and accepted Christ as savior also. Jesus honored Jimmy's faith and showed up.
This stuff is real! Jesus is real! He lives and stands at your door knocking, waiting, wanting to come in and talk to you, be with you. As crazy as that reality sounds, it is either real or not. The Gospel is either true or not.
This isn't some ethereal distant stuff, this is real, here, now. This isn't some set of rules and ceremonies to follow, this gospel is a very real and personal relationship with our savior.
