via IFTTT Paul? Which way is it? Here we see Paul following the law, but he just made such a point of the law not being necessary and in fact later refuses to circumcise a new believer. What wrong with Paul? Nothing is wrong, Paul is demonstrating freedom! Just because we don't HAVE to follow the law does not mean that we CANT follow the law. That would be legalism to say that we can't follow the law, just like saying we must. As followers of Christ we are free, free to follow the Holy Spirit daily in every situation. Here Paul was about to embark on missonaru journey to mostly Jews. Timothy was half Jew but never before circumcised. That presented a challenge, a roadblock to the mission to Jews. To remove that roadblock Paul allowed Timothy to be circumcised. It wasn't done in relation to legalism, but to further to gospel. This is how we are to walk, not by law but by spirit. Don't become legalistic about following or not following the law. Stop the endless debate. The law is nothing to salvation. Our heart is what matters. Pray without ceasing, that you might know the path, for it is not a written map, but spoken directions.
