I often wish I could sit down with my dad and ask him this or that, just hear his take on things. But, I cant. He is gone. All I have left are memories and a cassette tape or two. For you, I want to leave behind as much of me as I can, so that in those moments when you desperately think "I wonder what dad would say"... you can know. Wisdom is timeless. I am not but my love for you is timeless and lives on through the pages of this blog.

To be clean! What unspeakable joy!
To be clean! What unspeakable joy! Clean... All the mistakes, sin, dirt, sorrow of our past washed away. Cleaned of the habits that haunt us, the secret sins that cripple us. Clean and righteous before God. Clean inside and out.
A dream? No, reality. This is the gospel! The good news! We can indeed be clean.
It doesn't require another self help book. Doesn't take willpower. No professional involved, no payment. It's nothing we do at all, except ask. Sound crazy? Read the scripture. All this man did was find Jesus, get alone with him, and ask to be cleansed. That's it. Nothing more required but to believe.
The world is dirty. Hurting, evil, depressed, tired, lonely, burdened by the past and fearful for the future. Convincing ourselves that it isn't doesn't change things, raising our "self esteem" won't change facts. The bottom line is, Jesus is our only hope! Nothing else cleanses.
And the best news?
"I am willing, be cleansed"
